A walk down Memory (Bob) Lane… A bit of TRMGA history.

January 4, 1990

“On January 4, 1990 our RULES AND PROCEDURES COMMITTEE met at 2:00 P.M. in the dining room of Tatum Ridge Golf Links.

Dick Findlay asked if it was a good idea to establish a set of by-laws at this time. George Crittenden and Don Stirn both thought by-laws were unnecessary right now and both suggested we wait and decide this issue by letting the general membership vote on it at our next big meeting in February. Agreement on this point was unanimous.

Roy Rudolph suggested that since we had two people with handicaps over 33, we should amend the “GUIDELINES FOR OPERATING THE DESK” to read: “When playing Quota Points, the maximum handicap allowed any member is 30.” This will be done immediately.” Note. See minutes of October 20, 1993

“1. The committee has received a complaint that some Association members

have been observed urinating in or near the shrubbery adjacent to the tees,

including the bushes by a water fountain. In view of this and also considering that

the ground crew works in and around these shrubs and other plantings on the golf course, the committee suggests that these areas be off limits for that purpose and that we exercise careful and thoughtful discretion in this regard.”

 February 8, 1993

“2. Playing Blue and White tees. Due to the inability to post scores for handicap purposes, it is the decision of the Committee that the games in the Men’s Association are to be played using the same tees for all 18 holes except for certain events such as scrambles, match play, or red white and blue on July 4.”

“The Committee reviewed and discussed a proposed Constitution and By-Laws for our Association. After a final review of the proposed Constitution and By-Laws it was decided to present it to the membership for approval in a timely manner in order to elect the first Board of Directors at a membership meeting the first Wednesday of December.”
