After two days of intense competition, Ron McGee fired a net total of 127 to beat Bill Burns by one stroke and take the 2015 Club Championship trophy. McGee’s Day 2 charge up the leader board was nothing short of miraculous. After the first day, McGee was tied for 7th place with six other competitors. There were 14 other golfers ahead of McGee after Day One. McGee fired a net 68 on Day 1 and rebounded strongly on Day Two with a net 59 to win the tournament.
Bill Burns carded excellent back-to-back rounds shooting gross/net scores of 74/63 and 76/65. Burns captured the Low-Gross Championship as well as the A-Flight title. Stuart Macfarlane placed second in the A-Flight with a gross total of 152 and a net total of 134, edging out Bob Bourlier, Tom Fields and Lee Stephenson by one net stroke.
McGee’s net 127 was the lowest B-flight score beating Lew Dingler’s 129 by two strokes. Terry Whitney finished one stroke behind Dingler.
47 players competed in this year’s event. Thanks to Colin Ewing for organizing the tournament and to John Sholtis for managing the scoreboard.
